Ravine Gardens State Park
Ravine Gardens in Palatka, Florida is one of nine New Deal created state parks in Florida constructed by the Works Progress Administration in 1933 with walking trails, cypress buildings, rock gardens, terraces, and a suspension bridge. What was once a littered gully was converted into a terraced botanical garden featuring multiple varieties of azaleas bordering miles of trails that wind around and through the ravine. In the peak of azalea blooming season, it is a state destination to admire blended colors in a sub-tropical setting.
