Zero Degrees Latitude

At the Middle of the World Monument at the Equator in Ecuador, you can straddle a zero degree line and have one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other foot in the Southern Hemisphere, one foot in the Spring, one foot in the Fall season. Park managers claim there are only two seasons yearly at the monument, which are “Saturday and Sunday.” Yearlong temperatures fluctuate 15 degrees. Sitting in small observation bleachers allow your feet to be in the two hemispheres while the line indicating the Equator runs between your legs, which local residents claim enhances your romantic life.
