Oak Ridge Cemetery
Florida history is documented here in the graves of Florida pioneers from Territorial days, the Seminole Wars, and the Civil War. Buried here is Madison Starke Perry wo has a plantation near Rochelle Settlement and who served in the Second Seminole War, the Florida Senate, and became Florida’s fourth governor, Democrat 1857-1861 and led Florida to leave the Union and become the third Confederate state. Perry served in the Confederate army until disables by sickness. Oak Ridge Cemetery is five miles east of Micanopy on Alachua County Road 234.
